In the Atmiq app the forecast covers the next 48 hours, hour by hour. You choose a situation first: a workout, a walk with a child, airing a room or asthma. The chart and the list then follow that choice. Each bar’s height is the CAQI value of that hour, and its colour shows whether the hour is good, could wait or is bad for the situation you chose. The uncertainty band widens the further ahead the hour is.

The best windows pick the hours that suit the situation. If smog is expected, the screen shows a smog line for that day. Premium also sends a smog alert the evening before, from 8 pm local time, when the next day has hours above the threshold.

How to read the numbers and colours

The chart uses the European CAQI: its title says so, and the bar heights come from that index. The best windows and the smog line use the scale you choose in the settings: CAQI, US AQI or WHO. Compare numbers only on the same scale.

A forecast is an estimate, not a measurement. A change of colour between two hours is a reason to check again, not a guarantee. Before you leave, look at the current answer: “Can I go out now?” is free and shows the answer for the place you chose, right now.

How to get the forecast

The 48-hour forecast, the best windows and the smog alerts are part of Atmiq Premium. The map and “Can I go out now?” stay free. Premium is offered as a monthly or yearly plan, or as a one-time season pass that covers five months from purchase. The app shows the price before you buy.

A forecast helps you plan. It does not replace official warnings: if your local authority issues a health advisory, follow it.
